MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW

Want to know more about Eunice? Miriam? Rache? Dorcas?

Come and meet them on February 20, 2011 as Presbyterian Women lead worship.

On that day there will be:

· One worship service at 10:30 am

· An opportunity to make a difference—-the Thank Offering will be taken.

· A display of the creativity of the church family.

· A reception

Please plan now to attend, and to “show us what you make”—birdhouses to pots, shawls to sweaters, pictures to playthings—-all of the creative art, craft, and hand-made items we as a church family (MEN , WOMEN & CHILDREN) make.

SESSION NOTES

At the December Session meeting the elders discussed a variety of topics. Commissioners from the ruling elders were needed for the January Presbytery meeting where there will be a vote on changes to the Book of Order and the addition of the confession of Belhar to the Book of Confessions (our faith statements). These recommendations have come down from the 2010 General Assembly for approval.

The session approved the one time use of the facilities for a Tupperware party where the proceeds will be    donated to the church.

The 2011 budget was reviewed and approved. We are continuing our support of our seminary student, Wayne Fletcher, who is in his second year.

Rev. Heather and several session members are scheduled to meet with members of the board of Sussex County Interfaith Hospitality Network regarding their lease and use of the Spurgeon Building.

Two members were removed from the church rolls because they had lost all contact with the church.

Approval was given for use of Fellowship Hall by the Bread of Life ministries, who hand out lunches in   Newton to those in need on Saturdays, allowing use of the hall for two Saturdays a month during the winter.
